Nothing's official, but according to my watch I did the race in 1:10:09. This was five minutes faster than last year and exactly (well, 9 seconds slower) the time for which I was hoping.
It's the Fourth of July in Scripps Ranch, so that can only mean one thing... lots of things!
First thing this morning, Laura ran 10K and the girls and I "ran" the 2-mile Fun Run.
Oakfort Place was out in force this morning with Kathy, Brenna, Marc, Delois and Paula joining in the fun.
The girls were very proud of themselves after getting medals at the finish line.
After the runs, Melanie joined her Brownie troop for the neighborhood parade. The girls decorated their scooters on Saturday and Melanie for one was VERY excited to ride. Here she is with her friends Tori and Elizabeth.
Now it's lunch, then to the pool and finally to see fireworks tonight. Wish us luck as it's going to be a LOOOOONG day.
UPDATE: As an experiment, let's see if we can watch what the girls were watching while we watch them watching it. Very meta, right? Okay... press play below then start up the girls' video above. Oh, and mute the girls' video.
