Asleep with monkey and thumb
Julius Spitzberg
My grandfather, my father's father, passed away early this morning in El Paso, TX. He was 90 years old, and was able to spend time with his wife and three children last night.
He couldn't hear very well, owing to his service as an artillery commander in WWII and Korea, so we'll have to shout...
WE LOVE YOU, GRANDPA. AND WE'LL MISS YOU.

Late update: I forgot to mention that my fortune cookie last Friday read, "An unexpected event will soon make your life more exciting."
lucas & melanie
Mere moments later, Melanie attempting to sit on the bar with Lucas, spills backwards into the dirt! Lucas the gentleman that he is, repeated the trick.
Hamlin's sloth
I think it was in fifth grade that my dad (Grandpa Larry) came to school and we gave a presentation on fossils, and in particular the Giant Sloth. We had a bone and a cardboard "stand-up" of the sloth as our props. Quite the flood of memories as I saw this exhibit at the Natural History Museum this morning.
Oh, and Melanie says "hi".
